Description
This Maple Banana Bread is irresistibly soft, moist, and rich with real maple flavor. Sweetened naturally with pure maple syrup and mashed ripe bananas, this loaf bakes up golden and tender — perfect for breakfast, snack time, or a cozy dessert. The hint of maple extract takes it over the top!
Ingredients
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
½ cup pure maple syrup
1 large egg
2 ripe bananas, mashed (leave a few chunks for texture)
½ teaspoon maple extract (optional but enhances flavor)
3 tablespoons milk
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ cup chopped walnuts
3 tablespoons white sugar (for topping)
Instructions
Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 5×9-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and maple syrup. Beat in the egg and mashed bananas. Stir in maple extract and milk until smooth.
Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
Combine Mixtures: Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just moistened. Avoid overmixing — it makes the bread dense.
Add Topping: Mix chopped walnuts and white sugar. Sprinkle evenly over the batter for a sweet, crunchy top.
Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50–55 minutes or until a knife or toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool & Serve: Cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then remove to a wire rack. Slice, serve, and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for the best sweetness and flavor.
Substitute butter with coconut oil and milk with plant milk for a dairy-free version.
Wrap leftover slices tightly and store at room temperature up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
Optional: Add chocolate chips or extra nuts for variation.
