This Dark Chocolate Chip Raspberry Banana Bread is soft, moist, and bursting with juicy raspberries and rich dark chocolate chunks. Ingredients
1 ¾ cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
3 medium ripe bananas, mashed
2 large eggs
¼ cup melted coconut oil or olive oil (or substitute applesauce)
¼ cup honey or pure maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup dark chocolate chips or chunks
½ cup fresh or frozen raspberries (do not thaw if frozen)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
Prepare wet ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas, then add eggs, oil (or applesauce), honey, and vanilla. Stir until well combined.
Combine: Gently fold dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
Add mix-ins: Carefully fold in raspberries and dark chocolate chips.
Bake: Pour batter into the loaf pan. Bake 55–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool: Let rest 10–15 minutes in the pan, then remove and cool completely before slicing.
Notes
For a no-oil version, replace coconut oil with unsweetened applesauce or Greek yogurt.
For a no-sugar version, use overripe bananas and skip the honey or syrup.
For a no-yogurt version, add a bit of almond milk for extra moisture.
Use fresh raspberries for a bright, juicy flavor, or frozen for convenience.
Bread tastes even better the next day as flavors meld together.
